New GMT and Gold editions of the TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport
A twin-time in teal, a full 18K gold chrono, and a tourbillon F1 tribute, three sharp expressions of the Carrera Extreme Sport, one relentless racing DNA.
The Carrera Extreme Sport series by TAG Heuer returns for 2025 with three new references: a travel-ready Twin-Time chronograph that merges a true GMT into the openworked Extreme Sport template; a rose-gold chronograph that disrupts the collection’s tool aesthetic using precious metal; and a Tourbillon Extreme Sport F1 75th Anniversary limited edition that celebrates seven-and-a-half decades of champions.
The design language was set last year – skeletonised dials, hollowed case flanks, strong proportions – and remains with these new models, however, the execution gets sharper. The Twin-Time debuts a first-for-TAG dual-colour ceramic bezel cut from a single block and establishes teal as the Carrera’s GMT code. The gold model turns the same architecture into a luxe daily driver without losing the race-bred stance. And the tourbillon leans into drama and heritage with celebratory detailing. Here are the details.
Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport Twin-Time
TAG Heuer folds a true dual-time complication into the Extreme Sport package. The Twin-Time pairs the latest in-house TH20-02 automatic GMT-chronograph with a tougher, lighter case architecture in Grade-2 titanium, hollowed flanks and something new for TAG, a dual-coloured ceramic 24-hour bezel made from a single block. Teal is now the Carrera GMT signature, on the bezel, integrated rubber strap, dial accents and the open-worked date disc with white Super-LumiNova (green glow).
A red lacquered GMT hand reads the ceramic bezel; the vertical-clutch, column-wheel chronograph (80-hour reserve, bidirectional winding) keeps the timing crisp. The openworked features three azuré counters, shield rotor visible through a sapphire back, and a Victory Wreath engraving nodding to the collection’s competition DNA. It’s a practical, legible traveller’s chrono that still feels purpose-built.
Quick Facts: 44mm x 16.7mm – Grade-2 titanium case (brushed/sandblasted, black-PVD hollowed sides) – dual-colour ceramic fixed 24h bezel – domed AR sapphire front, sapphire back – 100m WR – skeleton dial with teal accents, open-worked date at 6 – Calibre TH20-02 (in-house) automatic GMT-chronograph – vertical clutch, column wheel, bidirectional winding – 28,800vph – 80h power reserve – hours, minutes, small seconds, date, chronograph, GMT – teal integrated rubber strap, Grade-2 Ti folding clasp with fine adjustment – ref. Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport Rose Gold
This Extreme Sport reframes the Carrera in precious metal without softening its intent. The 44mm case and fixed tachymeter bezel are made from solid 18K 5N rose gold, featuring alternating brushed and polished facets, and the collection’s hollowed side profile for visual lightness. Functionals stay purpose-built: a domed, bevelled sapphire crystal on top; a screwed sapphire back; 100m water-resistance; and black DLC Grade-5 titanium crown and pushers to resist wear (the crown carries a rose-gold ring).
The skeleton dial ties it all together. Against a grained black centre and black flange, every key element is rose-gold-plated: faceted applied markers, hour/minute hands with white Super-LumiNova, openworked azuré chronograph counters at 3 and 9, and the openworked date at 6. The TAG Heuer’s in-house TH20-00, a modern integrated automatic chronograph with vertical clutch, column wheel, bidirectional winding, a shield-shaped rotor and an 80-hour power reserve powers the watch. A black integrated rubber strap and black DLC titanium folding clasp keep the “luxury chronograph” vibe grounded in daily, sport-ready wear.
Quick Facts: 44mm – 18K 5N rose gold case and tachymeter bezel – domed AR sapphire crystal, sapphire caseback – black DLC Grade-5 Ti crown and pushers – 100m WR – skeleton dial with rose-gold-plated elements & date at 6 – Calibre TH20-00 (in-house) automatic chronograph – vertical clutch, column wheel, bidirectional winding – 28,800vph – 80h power reserve – hours, minutes, small seconds, date, chronograph – black integrated rubber strap, black DLC Grade-2 Ti folding clasp – ref.
