The More Compact Parmigiani Tonda PF Chronograph No-Date 40mm Mineral Blue
Parmigiani's dapper chronograph in a new, more compact 40mm case size and a gorgeous blue dial.
Three years ago, Parmigiani Fleurier unveiled its sophisticated Tonda PF luxury sports watch collection. Still bearing traits from the original Tonda designed by Michel Parmigiani, the collection debuted with four models, including the 42mm Tonda PF Chronograph. The new Tonda PF Chronograph, presented during Watches & Wonders 2025, comes in a more compact 40mm case size. Powered by the integrated, automatic, high-frequency chronograph calibre P070, the new 40mm reference ditches the date function and comes with a lovely Mineral Blue dial.
Almost all members of the Tonda PF family share knurled bezels, hand-guilloché dials, the redesigned oval PF cartouche appliqué, the grain d’orge (barleycorn) hand-guilloché dial pattern, the solid gold openworked delta-shaped hands and gold applied indices.

The new, more compact 40mm stainless steel case size has a thickness of 12.72 (compared to the 42mm version, which is slightly thinner at 12.4mm). The screw-down crown ensures the 100m water-resistance and is flanked by two teardrop-shaped pushers that echo the shape of the lugs. The signature knurled bezel is crafted in platinum and polished, like the crown, pushers and external links of the integrated steel bracelet. Contrasting brushed finishes on the case flanks and internal links of the bracelet add a dynamic touch.
CEO Guido Terreni’s design language for the Tonda PF revolves around the art of fine Italian tailoring, and the barleycorn pattern shared by many references looks almost like the material of a suit. Executed by hand in Fleurier using a rose lathe machine, the elegant pattern is depicted in an attractive Mineral Blue colour.
The three slightly recessed sub-dials, with 12-hour and 30-minute elapsed times at 9 and 3 o’clock and the small seconds at 6 o’clock, feature a smooth micro-sandblasted external track for contrast and guilloché interiors. The peripheral minutes/seconds track is also sandblasted and hosts the small 18k gold rhodium-plated indices.
Something to note is that despite its sporty complication, there is not a trace of luminescence on the dial. Made of solid gold, the slim delta-shaped hour and minute hands are openworked, while the chronograph hands and small seconds are made of rhodium-plated steel. Thanks to the absence of a date window and lack of inscriptions on the dial – save the oval PF appliqué at noon – there is plenty of breathing space for the counters.
The caseback has a sapphire crystal to showcase the in-house automatic P070 calibre, an integrated chronograph movement with a column wheel and a high frequency of 5Hz. Just 6.95mm thick, the high-performance mechanism delivers a 65-hour power reserve and is COSC chronometer certified. The finishes include bevelled satin-finished bridges, and a polished and sandblasted openworked 22k rose gold rotor.
The Tonda PF Chronograph 40mm is not limited. The price is CHF 31,500. More information at parmigiani.com.
