Bianchet is a relatively young high-end brand founded by Rodolfo and Emmanuelle Festa-Bianchet, and based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Since 2021, the brand has been offering modern tonneau-shaped watches powered by architectural openworked tourbillon movements. Early 2025 marked the launch of an important model for the brand, the UltraFino, its first ultra-thin model, its first integrated bracelet and its first automatic movement. Following the inaugural titanium models and a lightweight Carbon edition, the next step for the collection is about transparency, with the new Bianchet UltraFino Sapphire.

While still guided by the Golden Ratio and Fibonacci geometry, the UltraFino Sapphire adds transparency to the otherwise known design language of the brand, focused on tonneau-shaped cases and architectural movements. With a sense of Italian eleganza, the case shows very pleasant proportions, measuring 40mm in width, 47.5mm in length and, most interestingly, only 9.8mm in thickness. And according to what the brand claims, that makes the UltraFino Sapphire the slimmest full-sapphire tourbillon watch on the market. The case is now made entirely of sapphire crystal, with a white rubber gasket in plain sight to ensure a very decent 50m water-resistance. Besides its tonneau shape, the case is also curved on the profile, to ensure great ergonomics on the wrist.

Following the footsteps of the titanium and carbon editions, the face of the watch is all about revealing the movement underneath the hands and display, a feeling only reinforced by the transparency of the sapphire case. The movement, a proprietary development, has been designed with once again the Golden Ratio in mind, as well as a pleasant symmetry. Here left untouched, the grade 5 titanium bridges are framed by a grey-toned inner flange with minute track, as well as two lateral elements with applied lumed markers to display the hours.

Inside the case of the UltraFino Sapphire is the same calibre UT01, an automatic tourbillon movement mostly made from grade 5 titanium. The flying tourbillon beats at 3Hz and the suspended barrel, positioned at 12 o’clock delivers a comfortable 60h power reserve. The back reveals a central rotor made of solid gold and decorated with twelve Fibonacci spirals. Its architecture relies on a symmetrical positioning of the barrel and tourbillon, with the gear train on one side and the keyless works on the other. Despite the ultra-thin construction, its intricate mechanism and its different finishes and textures create a compelling sense of depth. And surprisingly, the watch is resistant to shocks up to 5,000Gs.

Worn on a white rubber strap with a titanium folding buckle (a black rubber strap is also included), the Bianchet UltraFino Sapphire is released as part of the permanent collection and priced at CHF 85,500 excl. taxes. For more details, please visit www.bianchet.com.
